Brisbane is where the action is this week, with Melbourne in a dangerous place on the standings. I certainly didn't see it playing out this way!! Gonna need therapy!!
Game 1 was beautiful with so much of the 'fan experience' warming my heart! I rang ahead and spoke with the Bandits team to see if we could come in early for BP and they were so friendly! You can tell from teams like this that their core values thread through the way they run their club and interact with their fans! You see it from the moment you enter the gate!
The stadium is setup really well with so many choices for great seating!! Not sure what areas are member's seating but we have had seating equivelant to the 1st baseline seating next to the dugout! Soooo good!!!
I have missed having the boys warm up in front of me and watching them prep in the hole! Huber's hamstring injury has called for extra on field warm ups which has been great! :) I will never tire of watching our team...ever!!!

What I am impressed with most each away series are the simple things that clubs do really well.
For Brisbane...
- Lineup Sign at the entrance. Helps fans to connect better with the game.
- They have recruited a lot of younger helpers for tasks around the ballpark instead of just having adult volunteers.
- Visiting dugout cover
- Coshy, the announcer who does an amazing job commentating and connecting fans with both teams! He has a great balance of sound across the ballpark too!
- They have one stand for food which is so good! Japanese okonomiyaki is the best I have ever had, teriyaki chicken, hot dogs chips, chicken, and they do a bento box with a cool bandits box. Orders are in quick but if u have to wait u don't miss out on any of the game.
- They throw prizes out from the centre broadcast area which allows them to reach almost every area of the stands!!
- The Bandits have had Stu Capel, Melbourne guru, to join them in the broadcast booth to utilise his skill and knowledge of the game and Melbourne team. Brisbane don't make it just about their team which is a great quality and value.

The fans in our area have been great. Got some great responses from the 'Huber At Bat Rituals' and crowd are responding to the signs.
Despite Brisbane pitching a complete game shutout, there were some great plays but some shocking ones too! Rather than get angry I just held up my Huber sign! Got a great response with that one in both games!! Crowd keeps looking to see what's next!
In Game 2, Brad Harman cracked a bat and I pounced on the dugout to see if I could have it for a friend back home. At the end of the game had one of my favourite Aces staff come up to me with Testa's cracked Old Hickory bat and gave it to me! What a great day!!
Time to turn it round boys, don't want an Adelaide series repeat!

Highlights so far...
- Ticket box staff were lovely and felt like we were old mates!!!
- Getting to know the Capels, Aces fans from Melbourne. Stu is a statistic stallion who is also assisting on the broadcast stream. Angela, the 'Dominican' has grown up playing women's baseball as a shortstop!
